White Widow History

The cannabis strain White Widow is a cross of two landrace strains, a Brazilian sativa female and a South Indian male plant. It was created by the acclaimed breeders of Green House Seeds in the 1990s. This classic hybrid is a popular choice within the Amsterdam coffee-shop scene. White Widow won first place Bio at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1995 and, it has gone on to produce other well-known family hybrids like White Russian, Wipeout Express, White Rhino, and Blue Widow. Bred specifically for a high trichome count, White Widow is a valued strain for medical use and hash production.

Appearance

White Widow buds look like small Christmas trees with a substantial coating of frosty-white crystals. Beneath the extensive covering of trichomes are sage green colored buds with long bright orange pistils and dark green leaves.

White Widow is known for having a hashy and floral, incense-like scent with gentle hints of pine. The smoke has a sweet and earthy flavor with a sugary and spiced aftertaste. White Widow looks much more like an indica during the vegetative stage: plants are bushy and wide, with lots of branching. Indoor flowering takes 60-70 days and outdoor plants will finish by the end of September. The average indoor harvest is 450-500g/plant. Outdoor plants can grow 5-10 feet tall and yield 650- 700g/plant. This plant grows extremely fast after germination and can grow over an inch per day (for the first 3 days following germination).
