Mazar Seeds
Mazar is a legendary strain known for its spectacular growth and extreme resin production. Mazar seeds have been around since the Dutch Passion Seed Company bred an original landrace Afghani indica with a Skunk #1 in the late 1980s. Then in 1997, the strain was reworked to improve its taste and yield. Since then it has gone on to receive a handful of awards, including the High Times Cannabis Cup Indica category. The rich flavor along with a heavy indica high will transport you to the mountainous region of northern Afghanistan where its story began. Mazar-i-Sharif is a renowned city known for its longstanding tradition of cannabis and hashish production. It was one of the major stops along the “Hippie Trail” during the 1960s and into the late ’70s. Mazar represents one of the finest Afghanica strains to make its way out of the region during that time.
Mazar Strain Appearance
The flowers grow dense and produce pleasant aromas of sandalwood, citrus, earthy spice and lavender. Mazar is perfect for hash production thanks to the incredible amount of trichomes that coat the buds and leaves. Mazar has an average THC content of 20% and a CBD of 1%, which gives it a very calming effect with no immediate head rush that can be too intense for novice smokers. A tremendous strain to alleviate insomnia, chronic pain, muscle spasms, and stress. The high is very clean, euphoric and long lasting also producing some time and space distortion effects.
Growing Mazar Seeds
Mazar feminized seeds can be grown successfully both indoor and outdoor with an average flowering time of 8-9 weeks. It grows easily, consistently yields above average and is a good strain for any grower granted you have adequate space for vertical and horizontal branching. The indoor yield is generally 18 oz/m2 and 30-40 oz per plant outdoors. It has a high germination rate and gives uniform results. The Mazar strain is mold resistant, hardy, tolerates colder temperatures well and can take on some beautiful magenta coloring during flowering. Mazar’s colas get heavy and so it’s recommended to support the branches during late flowering or grow using the SCROG method. Buying Mazar seeds has steadily remained a popular choice amongst growers for over two decades and it consistently delivers a high-quality smoking experience.
