Strain History
Critical Mass Fast Flowering is a refreshed version of the highly popular Critical Mass strain. The backbone of this strain comes from Skunk#1 and Afghani genetics. It’s essentially an improved version of the strain Big Bud. This faster flowering variation has some Critical Autoflower bred into it to shorten the budding cycle to 45 days or less. CM is one of the best yielding cannabis plants for commercial and amateur gardeners. The quality of the buds and impressive harvest has kept her a constant favorite among cannabis gardeners.
Fast Flowering Critical Mass Appearance
You have to see it to believe it but this Fast Flowering Critical Mass manages to produce huge chunky colas despite its brief flowering time. The buds have an insane bag appeal. It’s rare to encounter small nugs of this strain. Critical’s buds are bright green with tons of golden and orange colored pistils and swelled with an abundance of trichomes
Aroma
Critical smells like orange soda with hints of honey and bubblegum. Once the buds are squeezed, they release a sharp citrus and pinecone aroma that tingles the nose. The smoke is very smooth and hashy with a sweet skunky exhale.
Terpenes
The Skunk lineage is evident in Critical’s intensely sweet and citrusy scent. The flavor profile does not deviate much from the bouquet, and a pine nuance beneath the lemony tang makes for a fascinating treat.Myrcene, limonene, caryohyllene and pinene are the dominant terpenes in this strain.
Cannabinoids
This Fast Flowering Critical Mass variety is a great all-purpose strain. The THC level at 19-23% is potent enough for medical or recreational use. Her CBD content varies from 3-5%. Critical is 80% indica and is preferred for nighttime use due to the stoney and lethargic high.
Effects
Almost immediately after smoking, this strain will make your ears and forehead feel warm and sweaty thanks to the high levels of THC. The warmth spreads through the rest of your body and provides relief to sore muscles and achy joints. The above-average level of CBD can provide anti-inflammatory and calming effects which leave you feeling carefree and ready for bed. The relaxed indica effects can be felt for up to three hours after consumption.
Growing Fast Flowering Critical Mass
Critical Mass Fast Flowering can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors with great success. Any grower regardless of experience should be able to produce a high-yielding and potent crop in a relatively short amount of time. CM is a resilient and reliable strain with multiple branches and numerous bud sites. Short internodal spacing means that almost every inch of the branch is covered with thick buds. The branches get heavy and it’s advised to stake or trellis the plants to keep them from breaking under their weight. Critical rarely passes 3.5 feet tall, making it ideal for smaller grow rooms. Outdoor plants are ready for harvest by mid-late September and produce about 33oz/plant. Because of the dense indica flowers, Critical is recommended for warm and dry outdoor climates to prevent the forming of botrytis and mildew. Indoor plants require 45 days of flowering time and produce an average yield of 21oz/m2.
